Godipad

The kirtans sung to call Shriji Maharaj for the evening arti is called godipad. Shriji Maharaj has informed his disciples to sing godipad every evening before doing arti. The verses of godipad teach us about the glory of sants, Lord Swaminarayan’s divinity, and it has advice for devotees as well. We should sing them every day. It is said that “Bolay jyare godi, Shriji ave dodi” (Trans: When we sing godipad, Shriji comes running to us). Godipads are a way to invite Shriji Maharaj so when we sing godipad, He would come and present Himself. We should sing Godipad before the evening arti.
