Observance of five vows.

Even after starting study of meditation, it is compulsory to observe five vows prescribed by Lord Swaminarayan. Observance of five vows itself becomes helpful in stabilization during meditation. If five vows are not observed, the soul would become hollow and dry and would not allow the practitioner to remain steady in meditation.

Detachment from sensual pleasure of five cognitive senses:

After meditation, it is compulsory to averse to sensual pleasure to become detached from the perishable pleasure of five senses during the day. Attachment towards sensual pleasure of five senses would not allow us to set in meditation, not allow us to stabilize in meditation, which would induce us to think of enjoyment and gratification of pleasure of five sense therefore it is compulsory to become detached from the sensual pleasure.

To get rid of aversion, slander and disesteem:

Aversion slander is negative thinking for practitioner of meditation negative thinking would prove to be hurdle in accomplishment of worthiness. Besides, it is also a hurdle in observance of celibacy which is very much essential for meditation. As such, get rid of them. Moreover, thoughts of aversion, slander and disesteem come to our mind during meditation, which is hurdle called ‘Kashay’, by which the face of the person comes to our mind, so Murti is not visualized. The form creates deformity. As such, thoughts of aversions slander will destabilize us in meditation. Therefore, forsake aversion, stander and disesteem and cultivate divine vision.

The wrong belief of soul to be body should not be strengthened:

While doing all activities during the day. One should not strengthen the belief of being body. One should not strengthen this belief of being body. While dealing with children, wife, relatives and in service-business and with self in any way; otherwise, this strengthening would Shelfer the firmness of parbhav and would not allow one to stabilize in meditation.

Despite vices / inner enemies impede us, we should not consider ourselves guilty of that vice:

Since we are human being having a body, vices of body, nature may impede us, but we should indulge in the thought of parbhav that I am certainly Anadimukta dwelling in Murti only and despite these vices impede us we should not feel guilty considering that all these vices are of avarbhav (of this world).

Study Meditation daily:

After starting the study (practice) of meditation, whether we stabilize in meditation or not we should not give up the study (practice) of meditation. Under any circumstance we should not allow break in continuity of meditation. The study of meditation should be practiced daily. Even after meditation in the morning, if we find time during the day, we should start practicing meditation immediately to cultivate stability in meditation.
