1. Regarding the form of the God: (Bhagwadswaroop)
Nishtha-upasana of one and only one Lord Swaminarayan should be solidified that Swaminarayan is the supreme God and incarnate or (avatari) of all incarnations. The cause of all the causes, one and only one eternal God. One should solidify devotion towards Lord Swaminarayan like the chaste wife towards her husband. One should not have affection or conviction of deity-incarnation of God except Lord Swaminarayan.
2. Regarding the form of one’s true self: (Atmaswaroop Sambandhi)
To connect with the form of Lord Swaminarayan by meditation, one should consider one’s soul absolutely separate from the body and do all activities during the day with conception of being Anadimukta, dwelling in Murti. This is the excellent technic (latak) which must be followed.
3. Regarding Goal form: (Dhyey Swaroop Sambandhi)
The form of one and only one eternal God Swaminarayan, to whom we have to be identical should be visualized in meditation. We should not meditate on any other incarnation of God, person, Guru, Acharya or Satpurush. Meditate on one and only one form always in definite shape Lord Swaminarayan.
4. Regarding karan satsang : (Karan Satsang Sambandhi.)
Practitioners of meditation must have clarity of karya (activities) and karan. Sants, Acharya, temple, festivities, samaiya all these are activities (karya) and karan (cause) is only one Murti of Lord Swaminarayan. As such, there should not be predominance of any activities (means) but there should be predominance only of karan Murti Lord Swaminarayan. After accepting karan satsang, aspirant should take vows through Anadimukta-Satpurush and once the vows are taken through satpurush, the aspirant should consider himself entirely fulfilled with regard to attainment trusting that I have been transformed into Anadimukta and certainly kept in the Murti and thereby accomplished ultimate salvation.
5. Regarding happiness – bliss: (Sukh Sambandhi.)
There are two types of happiness: worldly happiness and transcendental happiness. Worldly happiness is ephemeral and momentary. Therefore, it is not true happiness but merely an illusion of happiness. For this reason, one should not strive for worldly happiness because it is dependent on material possessions and wealth, which eventually dissipate and do not bring lasting fulfillment.
6. Regarding worthiness: (Patrata Sambandhi)
To attain the happiness of Bhagwan, the aspirant who desires it must necessarily renounce the desire for impermanent physical pleasures. It is essential to hunger and yearn (to become a mumukshu).
7. Regarding satpurush : (Satpurush sathe atmabuddhi)
In meditation, understanding the union of the soul and the Supreme Soul, fostering intimacy, Anadimukta Satpurush is essential. Once this glory is understood, it is imperative to connect with Satpurush by soul, cultivate unwavering love, and develop Atmabudhhi with Him. One cannot advance even a single step on this path without the inner rajipo (blessings) of such a Satpurush.
